June was a great month! I have fully jumped into the NFT space! By creating content, uploading to the blockchain, and releasing NFTs, I have learned a lot. Getting whitelisted on AtomicHub feels great. Using Nefty Blocks to create packs and blends is a lot of manual work, but very rewarding. It is simply fun creating and distributing NFTs. Especially, when someone completes the Blend board in the first day of release! It has been fun learning experience

I admit, I have not advertised the project as heavily as I should. But, I have been looking for my voice. And for that, I first needed the vision. My eyes were opened by the fearless innovation done by the Uplift Project. I found people who were committed to blockchain tech, sustainability, and making a positive impact. Listening to how members of the UpLIft company speak of the future creates the capacity for love in all aspects of life. There are unlimited uses for the blockchain, WAX especially. We have only begun creating products with this pivotal technology.

Moving forward, it is time to announce the main reason for bringing BOXY out. Seeing other projects take an idea and make it real is astounding. Most notably, I am referring to the Oliveland project, which makes decentralized land and production ownership a reality. Not only is the project focused on meaningful ecological use of the land but also the practicing sustainable techniques. Currently, there are no rules, only moral standards and the limit of one’s imagination. Moral standing including stewardship to the land and people, trust, reliance, diligence, and sustainability. I am proposing a project to combine aquaponic food production in areas known as food deserts.

Food deserts are urban areas with limited access to cheap, fresh, and nutritious foods. Diet affects the individual in many profound ways. A poor diet can be detrimental to both physical and mental health. It is important to provide access to the proper food products, especially in densely populated areas. Now, in comes the sustainable practice of aquaponics. Aquaponics is a system consisting of both fish production and hydroponic vegetation production. Fish and vegetables being the main products.

So why aquaponics and why the blockchain and NFTs? Aquaponics, because it packs sustainable agriculture and aquaculture in a neat, grow anywhere, package. The blockchain and NFTs, because there is no better way to crowdfund and offer production share. Mixing the two will provide an opportunity for local producers to implement a more sustainable type of urban agriculture to better feed our population.

I am still in the planning and idea phase of this project. But, having now used the NFT tools, it is time to build the infrastructure for a decentralized agriculture program. I am certain the nfts will be used to represent actual parts of an aquaponics/agriculture system. Fish tank size, grow bed size, fish species, plant species can all tokenized. As users build their aquaponics system in the game and produce fish and veggies, sales will go to fund an aquaponics facility in real life.

Instead of using a currency similar to rPlanet and Uplift, all assets will be individually tokenized as NFTs to provide insight into the production and consumption of those assets. This would value newer mints and incentivize the purchase of the newest issued NFTs. When you grow a fish or veggie, you respectively receive those NFT’s. Funds raised from daily secondary sales will go to NFT holders every 24 hours. Participation is determined by a random wallet snapshot in the 24 hours leading up to the payout.

To keep in the spirit of sustainability, all by-products from creating new assets will be either recycle-able, reusable, or fixable. An example of the asset economy; to feed your fish, you will destroy a feed NFT to create the byproduct packaging and fish waste. Every time an asset is burned, a donation is simultaneously made. Funds for donations come from both primary sales and the secondary market.

BOXY – a sustainable urban agriculture project. Much more to come as I lay out the business model, growth plan, and roadmap.
